IT HAS COME TO OUR ATTENTION that some visitors may not fully understand the terminology used in Marysville... which has led to some confusion. To correct this situation, the Marysville Public School System has provided the following glossary of terminology.

beast with two backs
(bêst with too baks) n.:  1. a two-humped camel—
a cud-chewing mammal with a humped back, long neck and large cushioned feet, capable of storing water in its body tissue;  2. siamese twins—any pair of twins born with bodies joined together in some way
beaver
(be´ ver) n., pl. beavers:  1. a large rodent with soft, brown fur, chisellike teeth, webbed hind feet, and a flat, broad tail;  2. a man's high silk hat;  3. a hard-working person
cat  (aka kitten, pussy, tabby)
(kat) n., pl. cats, kittens, pussies, tabbies:
1. a small, lithe, soft-furred domesticated feline mammal;  2. any of a family of large, flesh-eating, predaceous feline mammals, i.e. lion, cougar, lynx, etc.,  3. one who makes spiteful remarks;  4. a gray or brown cat with dark stripes;  5. a wuss or happening dude, depending upon context
head
(hed) n.:  1. the top part of the body;  2. a unit of counting;  3. the obverse of a coin;  4. the fore-

hot tubbing

snake

woody  (aka wood)
(wood' ê) n.:  1. covered with trees or ligneous material;  2. any of a number of early model stationwagons, with side panels made of material resembling wood;  3. a thick growth of trees; forest or grove;  4. the hard, fibrous substance beneath the bark in the stems and branches of trees and shrubs; xylem;  5. short for firewood;  6. any of a set of golf clubs with wooden heads;  7. out of one's mind; insane; violently angry (adj.; archaic)
